Conference purpose and goals: * To exchange the state of the art in research concerned with the scientific and applied tools allowable for the metrology of physical and mechanical properties of wood and wood based material. * To show new concepts and new technologies that have entered the market. * To provide a forum for wood scientists, senior researchers, head of research and developpment laboratories concerned with nondestructive testing methods and nondestructive technology applied to wood and wood based products. * To learn the actual technologies and the tendencies for tomorrow, for the evaluation of trees, roundwood, logs, poles and piles, solid wood, sawn timber and lumber, glued laminated timber, plywood, particle boards, laminated veneer lumber, reconstituted wood.

The Third International Symposium on wood machining was organised within the framework of COST Action E35: «Fracture Mechanics and Micromechanics of Wood and Wood Composites with regard to Wood Machining».
L’objet des journées est de montrer l’intérêt d’identifier et prendre en compte les sollicitations auxquelles sont soumis les contacts le plus tôt possible dans l’avancement du projet.
